Block Breaker, also known as Brick Breaker or Arkanoid, is a classic arcade game that has been around for decades. The goal is straightforward but difficult: smash bricks organized in patterns on the screen and bounce a ball using a paddle. As you break bricks, you progress through levels, each with increasing difficulty and complexity.
Gameplay:
- Paddle Control: A horizontal paddle at the bottom of the screen is under your control. Move it left and right to position it strategically.
- Ball Launch: The ball starts in the middle of the screen. Tap the screen or press a button to launch it.
- Brick Breaking: The object of the game is to smash the ball into bricks. Each brick has a certain number of hits it can withstand before it shatters.
- Power-ups: Some bricks may contain power-ups that can enhance your gameplay, such as:
- Larger Paddle: Makes your paddle wider for easier ball control.
- Multiple Balls: Increases the number of balls on the screen.
- Faster Ball: Makes the ball move faster, increasing the challenge.
- Laser Beam: Temporarily gives you a laser beam to destroy bricks instantly.
Levels and Challenges:
- Level Design: Levels vary in complexity, with different brick patterns, power-up placements, and obstacles like indestructible blocks.
- Time Limits: Some levels may have time limits, adding pressure to break bricks quickly.
- Boss Levels: Certain levels may feature boss bricks that require specific strategies to defeat.
